OUR COUNSELORS
Ashley Schmutzer - Counselor, MA, LCPC
There are times when we struggle with an issue and need someone to encourage and help us. Sometimes we need to tell just one other person something we have done or been through. And once in a while our wheels come off, and we need serious support and help. It is very important to me that you feel safe when you come into my office, and that you are heard when it comes to the issues you are facing. I want you to feel you won't be judged and hopeful that true healing can occur.
I work with individuals, couples and families, and specialize in providing tools for anxiety, depression, and healing from abuse and trauma. I also provide support for those having difficulties in marital and family relationships, and can help with infidelity and addictions. In addition, I am trained in levels I and II of EMDR.
Choosing to come in for counseling can be a scary, but very courageous step. I want you to feel safe and like you can say anything when you come into my office. I believe being able to be yourself and real is where healing can begin.

Sandy Jolly — Counseling Intern
My name is Sandy, and I am pursuing a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Wheaton College where I am receiving training in evidence-based and client-centered approaches to care. I graduate May, 2027.
I have deep compassion for individuals who are navigating challenges related to life transitions, relationships, personal health or health of a loved one. I seek to provide a safe and welcoming space where you can be your authentic self and live a more fulfilling life. I have experienced encouragement and empowerment through my own experiences in counseling and seek to offer the same to my clients. I approach counseling through an integrative, holistic lens, drawing upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, using a Client-centered, trauma-informed focus.
In my spare time, I enjoy walking in local forest preserves, spending time with friends, my four adult sons and two daughters-in-law, and traveling to South Carolina to visit family. I am an active member at my church and serve on the care team.
I look forward to walking alongside you.
